Love this theme! This photo is of my son’s sweet friend, Clayton. Clayton came directly from playing his baseball game to see my son’s at the same park, different field. And, bless his heart, he cheered SO loud for my boy as he was up to bat. Melted my heart to see him so excited to watch his friend.

Sweet Dreams

My boy is so lucky….His Godparents came over and hid special notes all over the house for him one random night close to his birthday.

This was the final note — and I’m not sure he even saw it as he climbed into bed. But, he fell asleep right next to it. And the card speaks the truth. MOST.SPECIAL.BOY.ON.THIS.PLANET…..and he’s my son. How lucky am I?!

Belly Love

I Heart Faces….Hearts!

Yay for love and hearts. Nothing fuzzier than that!

On December 29th, I got to witness the *coolest* thing EVER….one of my closest friends gave birth. She asked me to be in the room and it was amazing. I have had two kids myself, but didn’t see much during it all!  Being able to witness the miracle of life actually happening step by step was breathtaking. One of life’s cooler things for sure. Here’s her sweet belly…before I got to see Chloe Nicole enter the world. Love this couple. This baby. And the gift of life.

Nothing but love for you, baby

What a *perfect* week to have this theme for us Georgians. We just got EIGHT inches of snow here last week. Shut our schools down for 5 straight days. I think we have one snowplow in the whole state. Us Southerns just don’t know what to do with the white stuff. But, man, when we get some snow – WE LOVE IT!

This photo is so special for so many reasons – This is my mom and my daughter sledding last week down the golf course hills (Shh! Don’t tell…I’m pretty sure it was aganist the rules..) on the course where my parents live. Last winter, we had snow twice. The second time it snowed we had enough to REALLY sled – a couple of inches. My mom is ALWAYS so fun. You would NEVER know she is a Mimi. She acts younger than I do most times — and my kids LOVE it – Mimi is so fun! Well, last year, she was coming down a hill in the snow, VERY fast, on a sled and flew off the end of a ledge at the bottom of a hill on the golf course. When she flew off the sled, she fell and landed on top of a riverbed of rocks…..and broke her back instantly. It was the scariest thing I have ever witnessed, and honestly, I thought she was dead. When she hit the ground, she didn’t move.

She had back surgery on Valentine’s Day and had a long recovery….Thankfully, she is doing very well….and got back on the sled again this year. So proud of her for getting through it all and hitting the “Georgia slopes” again.  Facing your fears is hard — and doing it with a smile on your face — even harder. So proud to call her my Mom.
